Lagos prices are set by LASERC (Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission). The Eko and Ikeja areas of Ogun are covered by NERC orders 091 and 093, which use the same prices as Lagos. Other prices come from NERC's September 2026 orders or, where a state regulator has taken over, from that regulator's latest order.
How we worked this out
Method. Your weekly petrol spend ÷ petrol price = litres a week. Litres × (100 ÷ your car's litres per 100 km) = km a week. Km × the electric car's kWh per 100 km ÷ 100 = kWh a week. kWh × the electricity price = electricity cost a week. A month is 52 ÷ 12 weeks; a year is 52 weeks. Electricity results are rounded to the nearest ₦100.
Electric car energy use. We use the European WLTP test where it exists. Where only a China test figure is published, we multiply it by 1.30, because China's test gives lower figures (for the BYD Sealion 7, China 15.2 vs WLTP 19.9 kWh/100 km). Plug-in and range-extended cars are counted as driving on battery power only.
| Car | Energy use | Basis and source |
|---|---|---|
| Avatr 12 | 26.8 kWh/100 km | Adjusted from China test figure (20.6 kWh/100 km, 2026 dual-motor RWD EREV 350 km; cycle not stated by source) × 1.30. CarNewsChina database |
| Avatr 07 | 18.9 kWh/100 km | Adjusted from China test figure (14.5 kWh/100 km CLTC) × 1.30. CarNewsChina database |
